 Katie & Matt are engaged! We spent an afternoon hiking a few miles around Balboa Park to climb trees, play on chimneys, search for their shadows and take some adorable pictures. These two were up for anything and I had a wonderful time documenting this exciting occasion in their lives.
I noticed right away they were obviously in love but even more, there was a comfort level between the two of them akin to best friends . They had just as much fun and enjoyed the time spent with each other, whether they were talking while I fiddled with my camera or when I asked them to kiss in a hallway full of strangers (which definitely didn't take Matt much convincing!). One last note. Katie and I were introduced by my cousin, Cassie, who thought we would get along well both being bloggers, active individuals and food lovers. She has a wonderful blog (gettinmyhealthyon.com) full of recipes and ways to live a mostly healthy lifestyle. I appreciate Katie's ability to balance the delicious with the 'it's good for you!' in her food and her encouragement to be active. The happy couple took the time to fill out some questions over coffee so I to get to know them better.
Where/how did you meet ? Katie: We met at out college. I was actually his boss. The Sparks didn't fly until we were at my sister's wedding; he knew my brother-in-law. Matt:I'm going with college...yes...college. Name three things you have common Katie:We're both pretty weird, chill and adventurous. Matt:Craft beer, dogs, running. If you could have a super power, what would it be? Katie: To know everything, because then I can finally beat Matt at trivia. Matt: To start and stop time, isn't it obvious? All other answers are wrong. What would constitute a "perfect" day for you? Katie: Going on adventures with my family and Matt that involve outdoors, coffee, and good food. Matt: Depends on what sport is in season, I'm going with a sunny day at a baseball game. When did you first know Matt/Katie was the one? Katie: When he met the rest of my family, I saw how well they all got along, and that's when it hit me how perfect he was. Matt: when I called her from the ER and she was legit worried about my health. What is you most treasured memory together, so far? Katie: We've had a lot of fun memories together, but when he proposed to me, that's my all-time-favorite. Matt: Engagement day is too obvious. The day she moved to San Diego was one of my favorite days ever.
